  • Kentucky Bluegrass, good friends and organic farms

Hey all! As you know, your skin is as much about what you eat as it is about what you put on it. I don't think I can stress enough the importance of whole food eating. I am refraining from calling it "nutrition" because we have become focused on the nutritional value in something and lost sight of the beautiful food all around us.

While visiting friends in Lexington, KY over the past few weeks, I continued my journey to find fresh, local food. I did a little research on EAT WILD to find a local farm and I discovered PIKE VALLEY FARM . Pike Valley is a local farm run by three brothers and is about 125 acres in size. I was able to purchase fresh veggies, pastured eggs and handmade soap. However, due to KY laws, I was unable to buy any raw milk from their dairy cows. It's crazy to me that we can buy "food" with no expiration dates and yet we are not given the freedom to purchase milk in its natural form.

Baby dairy calf - so cute!

Pike Valley offers a wide variety of organic, pasture-raised meat and eggs.
